Cardinals Trade for Cedric Hunter

Earlier this afternoon the Cardinals made a trade for Cedric Hunter of the Oakland A’s. The Cardinals needed an outfielder since two of their Memphis players are on the big team i.e Matt Carpenter and Shane Robinson. In return the A’s will receive a future player. Hunter a 3rd round draft pick for the Padres back in 2006 played a few games for the Padres in 2011. He was later put on waivers and picked up by the A’s. Cedric is more apt at playing centerfield. In 2009 he was considered the Padres top prospect. He also earned several awards while in the minors. Hunter a left handed hitter could make the Memphis Redbirds a better team while Carpenter and Robinson is out for a while.
