Well it didn’t take long for the kindling wood in the Hot Stove League to spark up right away with the loss the Cardinals just experience in the World Series. Names like Jurickson Profar, Troy Tulowitzki, Stephen Drew and now Starlin Castro have been rumored already that the Cardinals are interested in trading for to fill in the short stop position. The word on Starlin Casto is that General Manager John Mozeliak had called the Cubs to inquire about their short stop Castro. What I like is that Castro is only 23. He is a great RBI guy and can steal up to and over 20 bases. The Cubs already have him locked up in a contract for the next seven years. So why would the Cubs be interested in possibly trading Castro to the Cardinals? I would tend to think because the Cardinals are deep in young pitching. Some names that have been mentioned that could snag Castro are Shelby Miller, Tyrell Jenkins and Carlos Martinez. I really think that Castro could be a big piece of the puzzle that could improve the team. We have been needing a steady short stop since Edgar Renteria’s reign from 1999 to 2004. Would love for the Cardinals to put a deal together for him. He would be a great tandem with Matt Carpenter or Kolten Wong at second base.
