After this afternoon’s 9-6 win over the Chicago Cubs, the Cardinals are now tied for first place with the Brewers. With four weeks to go starting tomorrow the Cardinals need to kick it into second gear. Today the Cardinals made a bunch of moves in order to get ready for September’s roster expansion. Siegrist appeared in six games for Memphis this month, allowing just one run and three hits in his 6.2 innings pitched while striking out 11. He was 1-3 with a 6.11 ERA in 32 games (28.0 IP) with the Cardinals earlier this season, fanning 33. Kozma was batting .248 with 8 home runs and 54 RBI in 117 games at Memphis. He has appeared in four games for the Cardinals this season (.333 BA; 1-for-3).
