Chase Utley Heading to the Dodgers

I just got word that ESPN is reporting that the Dodgers have agreed to a deal with the Phillies for Chase Utley, this deal should be done in the next 24 hours according to CBSSports. What I find that is so funny is that GM Ruben Amaro Jr. had stated that Chase Utley isn’t going anywhere anytime soon….I guess not! Chase has always expressed wanting to play in California due to growing up in the Long Beach area. The aging second baseman will replace Howie Kendrick since he is out with a hamstring injury. It was also reported that Rollins has been in contact with Chase before the trade rumors became a hot item. The dodgers will send two minor league players to the Phillies for Utley. The Dodgers will receive $4 million from the Phillies to offset the $6 million remaining on Utley’s $15 million dollar salary. With the struggles the Dodgers are having they look as if they are trying to prepare themselves to get past the Cardinals for divisional playoffs.
