Mike Gallego Named Director of Baseball Development for the Angels

One of my favorite Cardinals player Mike Gallego was fun to watch back in the mid 1990’s when Tony LaRussa became manager. Gallego didn’t get many at bats but he was a great defensive middle infielder. Who would of known that he would become director of baseball development with the Angels. Last year Gallego was fired as the third base coach for the Oakland Athletics  and now he will run the minor league system with Mike LaCasa. All I can say is wow! He was named the Colorado Rockies third base and infield coach in December 2004 to October 7, 2008. He was hired as the A’s third base coach and infield instructor during the 2008 offseason. He was dismissed on August 24, 2015. As I tell my son if you work hard and keep your nose to the grind you will be rewarded. Congratulations Mike Gallego.
