As we all wonder when Aledmys Diaz will be sent down to the Memphis Redbirds, thnk again. The tides are turning…..Jhonny Peralta is progressing quickly in his recovery from left thumb surgery in March and could return to the majors later this month, Peralta fielded grounders at short Sunday for the first time since the surgery, and the club currently plans for him to start a rehab assignment May 21. The Cardinals haven’t missed Peralta nearly as much as expected because of the virtuoso performance Aledmys Diaz has turned in at short. It now looks like that the Cardinals will consider Jhonny Peralta at 1B and 3B in addition to shortstop, as way to keep Aledmys Diaz’s bat in lineup. With this type of movement to keep Diaz with the Cardinals means that he is here to stay. I am so glad we took a chance on him.
