Rick Ankiel’s New job for FSMW

The last time we heard about Rick Ankiel he announced his retirement from Major League Baseball on March 5, 2014. In 2015 he became a life skills coach for the Washington Nationals, in which didn’t last too long. Well lets welcome Rick Ankiel back to the St. Louis Cardinals as a Fox Sports Midwest as a studio analyst. He will be doing for some Redbirds pregame and postgame shows. Ankiel will make his debut at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday before the Cards play in Cincinnati, and then he will appear three nights and more appearances in the coming months. He will be filling in a need for the Cardinals in the studio. Since Rick Horton is now broadcasting road games on KMOX, Ankiel becomes the guy for the  Cardinals Live Show. Jack Donovan the General Manager for FOX Sports Midwest said, “He’s really well liked by Cardinals fans. He’s always received warmly in St. Louis,” and “He’s a guest analyst — emphasizing it’s a guest/temporary thing. But sometimes those lead to other things … and he looks and talks great and has great potential.” Well I am glad to have him back as an analyst. I also know these type of jobs may lead to other positions with the Cardinals. I also  hope to get my Rick Ankiel rookie card sigjned.
